Dan's Background: He grew up in Indiana & Ohio . . . . .
. . . Dan was born in Logansport, Indiana in Saint Joseph's Hospital on the banks of the Wabash River. He was the youngest of two children. His sister, Barbara Ann Katherine Christine O'Connor Carter, presently lives in Canton, Ohio.
. . . . At the age of five, the family moved to Lancaster, Ohio, where Dan's father was a factory worker in charge of quality control for a car parts manufacturer for Ford & Chrysler automobiles. Dan's mother worked for a short time before he was born, but did not work after that, except for an occasional charity stint. Dan started school at Saint Mary's elementary school, where his sister, ten years older, graduated from high school. His best friends in Lancaster included Craig McIntyre, Jimmy & Johnny Sava, John Baughman and Paul Fox. If any of you ever read this, he would love to hear from you. dan@danoconnor.com
. . . Toward the end of fifth grade, Dan's family moved to Kenton, Ohio, where he first attended Saint Anthony's elementary and then later graduated from Kenton High School. Dan's high school activities included freshman basketball, three years of varsity golf, and among his fondest memories--editor of the high school year book. His friends, past and present, from that attendance are too numerous to mention. Among his closer friends (mentioning primarily the guys): Bill "W.R." Gramlich, M.D., Tom Black, M.D., Tom Oates, M.D., Bob Oates, Esq., Pete Lichty, Mike Bernard, Esq., Jim Holdgreve, Lois Reynolds Lautenschlager, Linda Black Terwilliger, Bill Schwartz, Esq., Jim "Sean" Sherman and Carla Johnson.
Then, his parents moved to Zanesville, Ohio and he went off to college . . . -back to biography directory-
. . . . .Dan attended Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. He began his studies in architecture and eventually changed his major and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts Degree in government. While there he was a member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, an elected member of the Student Senate, a member of the debate team, where he ultimately served as captain and president of the Forensic Society. Pictured to the left is Upham Hall with its landmark arch in the center. Legend had it that the arch would crack when the first virgin graduated from Miami University. Perhaps you'll be able to detect its current status from the photo.

. . . . .While in law school, Dan participated in Moot Court (phantom trials) and graduated in the top portion of his class.

. . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . in Missoula, Montana, where he pursued a Master's Degree in Business Administration. He graduated first in his class with all A's and an emphasis in management, quantitative analysis and marketing. Dan loved living in Montana . . .

. . .during the summer, that is!
. . . . .While he was getting his law practice started, Dan taught for a time (business theory & accounting) at Diablo Valley College in Pleasant Hill, California.

. . . . .Dan was offered a full time position upon completion of his contract, but declined due to meager wages.
